2009 Community Service Project
Every
year our club organizes a community service project as a way of giving back to
the community. This year, we will be organizing a holiday food drive to
benefit families in the Wilton area. As you can imagine, the recession
has impacted our community, with the number of struggling families doubling
over the past year. We will be collecting items for the Wilton Food
Pantry and items to create a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket for one family.
- We will be collecting non-perishable
items for the Wilton Food Pantry from November 23rd through December 6th.
A list of the items needed is below (the coordinator
mentioned that their supply of personal care items is particularly low).
Items can be dropped off at the front door of the following homes:
Janell's
house: 302 Cannon Road, Wilton Laura's
house: 201 Westport Road, Wilton
Jeena's house: 98 Deer Run, Wilton
- We will also be collecting
fresh/perishable items to create a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket. A
list of the items needed is below. If you would
like to provide items for the basket or make a monetary donation towards
the purchase of those items, please contact Janell Federico (210-7278 or janellfederico@yahoo.com) who
will be coordinating this effort.
Please
help us bring holiday cheer to local families in need by participating in the
food drive. Thank you so much for your help!
